You will first receive a comprehensive smile consultation to ensure there are no hidden problems

Some patients may prefer to have a professional teeth cleaning before the veneers are placed to get them their whitest to prepare for their new veneers

The surface of the tooth is roughened by removing a thin layer of enamel to help bond the veneer

Your tooth will be cleaned with a special substance to increase bonding

Composite resin will be applied to the tooth, layer by layer, until there is enough to cover and create a new shape for your tooth

The composite will be further customised for aesthetics for the best size and shape

Once the final touches are complete, a special polish will be used to achieve a beautiful new tooth that looks and feels natural

Caring for Composite Resin Veneers

Dental veneers are an investment in your health and your smile and can last their longest with proper care. Because composite resin veneers are not as stain resistant, we do begin by recommending that patients limit staining foods such as curries, black teas and coffee. The following are some typical guidelines to follow once you get composite resin veneers:

Brush at least twice each day with a soft bristle brush

Floss at least once each day

Z

Use in intraoral cleaner to carefully clean around your dental veneer

Do not bite hard candies or other hard objects, especially with the veneer

Z

Eat raw carrots, apples and other firm fruits and vegetables by slicing them first to protect your veneer from damage

Avoid smoking to keep your veneers and teeth looking their best

Limit alcohol use as this can soften bonding materials

Wear a mouthguard at night if you grind your teeth
