What Problems Can Invisalign Fix?
Last week, one of our long-term patients, Robert from Paddington, came in to discuss getting his crowded teeth fixed. He was thinking of getting Invisalign.
During our consultation, he asked me, “Billy, what problems can Invisalign fix?”
For patients with misaligned teeth, this is such a common question. So I decided to make this short video just in case you are also curious if Invisalign can help you.
Invisalign is one of the modern orthodontic treatment options for patients who need alignment of their teeth, and it is very popular among the adult population compared to the traditional braces.
There are a few things that it can fix.
Firstly, it can straighten teeth. If the patients have crowding issues because of the alignment of the teeth, they can create some areas where it’s very difficult to clean, and the plaque and tartar can hide and not be cleaned out properly, which will, in turn, cause gum disease, tooth decay, and bad breath.
By realigning your teeth, not only will it look aesthetically better, it will be a lot easier to clean, and hence, better for your overall oral health.
Secondly, for some patients, they may have gappy teeth, Invisalign will bring the teeth closer together and close up the gaps.
Finally, for some patients who are after a complete smile makeover, they may use Invisalign to level out their teeth, which will provide a good foundation for more cosmetic treatment afterwards.
